MKA Ijtema 2017 Syllabus and Rules

This year's theme is "The Holy Quraan"

Tilawat: 

- Surah al-Hijr, Ch.15 V.7-10
- Surah Aal-e-Imran, Ch. 3 V. 8
- Surah al-Araaf, Ch.7 V.204-205
- Surah Bani Israel, Ch.17 V.79-81

 Nazm Syllabus and Rules:

- This is an open competition, thus any Khadim can participate.
- A Nazm delivered from outside the syllabus will NOT be marked.
- Judges reserve the right to stop a participant at any point.
- The marks will be given for the following categories:
   a) Pronunciation
   b) Tune
   c) Quality of Voice

English Speech:

- This is an open competition, thus any Khadim can take participate.
- A speech delivered from outside the syllabus will NOT be marked.
- The speaker will have a total of 2 minutes to deliver his speech.
- Extra marks will be rewarded for delivering the speech from memory.
- Judges reserve the right to stop a participant at any point.
- The marks will be given for the following categories:
   a) Pronunciation
   b) Contents
   c) Presentation
   d) Memory 

- Topics for English Speech:
   a) Prophecies of the Holy Quran
   b) The Quran – A Perfect Teaching
   c) The Quran: Protected by Allah
   d) Jihad with the Holy Quran
   e) Quranic Principles on World Peace

Urdu Speech:

 ۔اس مقابلہ میں ہر خادم کو حصہ لینے کی اجازت ہے۔
ہر مقرر کو تقریر کی تیّاری کے لیے 2 منٹ دیے جائیں گے۔
منصفین کو حق حاصل ہوگا کہ وہ مقرر کو جہاں مناسب سمجھیں روک دیں۔

Azan Competition:

1. This is an open competition, thus any Khadim can participate.
2. There will be no marks for reciting from memory.
3. Judges reserve the right to stop a participant at any point.
4. The marks will be given for the following categories:
   a) Pronunciation
   b) Tune
   c) Quality of Voice

Paigham Rasani:

1. Only one team per region consisting of at least seven members will be permitted.
2. Each team will have a choice to select their message either in Urdu or English.
3. The message will be read out three times to every team leader in the beginning. He will then be allowed 3 minutes to pass on the message.
4. Every team member must convey the message quietly. Otherwise the team may be disqualified.
5. The last member of every team will be allowed 5 minutes to write the message neatly.

 Quiz Competition:

1. One team consisting of 4 members from every Region will be allowed to enter the competition.
2. Questions on the following topics will be asked:
   a) Noah’s Ark (Book of the Promised Messiahas)
   b) Detailed questions on the Holy Quran
   c) Basic questions on History of Islam
   d) Basic questions on History of Ahmadiyyat
   e) General Knowledge
3. There will be both individual and collective rounds.
4. With every correct answer the team will earn 5 marks.
5. A response must be started within 10 seconds after a question has been heard.
6. If, at the end of the quiz, two or more teams have equal marks, in that case every team will be asked a question until we have a clear winner.

Wite an essay competition:

1. The topics for this year are:

   i) The Holy Quran Safeguarded by God

or

   ii) The Status of Women in the Quran

2. This will be an open competition
3. The Op-Ed should be 1000-1500 words
4. The Op-Ed can be submitted in English or Urdu
5. All English Op-Ed must be typed in 12 point font size
6. Essays can be submitted electronically to talim@khuddam.co.uk
7. The final submission deadline is 1st September 2017
8. Prizes will be distributed on National Ijtema
9. The marking will be based on the following criteria:
   - Was overall justice to the topic achieved (50%)
   - Citation of all references (25%)
   - Readiness of the entry for external publication (25%)
10. The front page should include the Topic, Name, Qiadat, Region and Contact Details of the participant

Presentation Competition:

1. A team of up to 3 Khuddam from each region can take part in the competition, at least one will deliver the presentation, while the other members can control the presentation. The whole region can help the team to prepare the presentation.
2. The Presentation has to be delivered on one of the following topics:
   i) The Holy Quran: The Source of All Knowledge
   ii) The Prophecies of the Holy Quran
3. The presentation has to be delivered in English.
4. The duration of each presentation will be 7 minutes. The first bell will be rung after five minutes and after the second bell the presenter would have to leave the rostrum.
5. The allocation of the marks will be as follows:
   i) 10 marks for the Style of delivery
   ii) 10 marks for Content & subject matter
   iii) 5 marks for Pronunciation
   iv) 15 marks for Visual Presentation
6. The presentation can contain pictures & videos as well.
7. During the competition no one, other than the presenter, will be allowed to talk.

Bait Bazi Competition:

1. One team consisting of 3 members from every Region will be allowed to enter the competition.
2. The syllabus for Bait Bazi is as follows:
   a) Dur-e-Sameen
   b) Kalam-e-Mahmood
   c) Kalam-e-Tahir
   d) Dur-e-Adan
3. You have to narrate a verse starting from the same letter where from the other competitors have finished.
