The primary aim of the Amoor-e-Tuluba Ahmadiyya Muslim Students Association (AMSA) team is to:
Research the viability and criteria of setting up Ahmadiyya Muslim Student Associations (AMSA) with a view to introducing further AMSA in other universities throughout the UK
More generally, we are here to enrich the experience for students whilst studying at university by maintaining contact with the Khuddamul Ahmadiyya and provide a supportive framework for any concerns student may have.
Currently the spread of AMSA across UK universities is not a fair representation of the Ahmadi student population. Therefore our primary goal is to expand representation. In the coming months Regional Amoor-e-Tulaba representives will be at hand to provide the frontline support and first point of contact for students. We are aiming for ten AMSA, of which we currently have four:
University College London (New 2010)
Kingston University (Existing)
Imperial College London (Existing)
City University London (Existing)
There will be lots of interesting activities, events and opportunities to socialise with fellow Ahmadis and indeed others. Being at university is a positive growing experience for yourself and your peers, however your primary purpose will always be to excel in your studies and in the remembrance of Allah. An AMSA would be able to provide you: a hub for regular prayers, a support network, contacts (for work experience, career counselling, tutoring etc) and friends for life to enable you to gain every last drop of benefit from these great institutions throughout the United Kingdom.
We are particularly interested in hearing from universities with 6 or more Ahmadis from the Russell Group. If you are interested in getting involved or feel your university needs an AMSA, please do not hesitate to contact me or the Regional AT representatives at amooretuluba@khuddam.org.uk
