The True Concept of Jihad

Young Muslims will be meeting at a conference in London to learn about the true meaning of Jihad.
Organised in the aftermath of the Mumbai attacks, the event aims to dispel myths about Islam and terrorism and to educate Muslim youth about the teachings of their faith.

Religious scholar, Maulana Laiq Ahmad Tahir of Huddersfield, will be the chief speaker at the seminar on the topic “The True Concept of Jihad” that is being hosted by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) at the Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden, Surrey, on Saturday 10 January.

Tommy Kallon, National President of the AMYA, said:

"The appalling events in India recently were yet another example of fanatics attempting to blemish the name of Islam. Terrorist attacks are categorically forbidden by the Holy Qur'an and highlight a continuing need for Muslim leaders to explain the true meaning of Jihad – which is to strive to purify oneself, attain nearness to God and be of service to the whole of humanity."

The conference is also open to everyone from all backgrounds and walks of life. Anyone interested in attending can book their place by emailing: info@khuddam.org.uk
