Members should write letters to the Telegraph and post comments on the Burton Mail condemning Tohseef Shah's actions and promoting Islam's peaceful message.  For every one individual extremist misrepresenting Islam, there are hundreds and thousands of British Muslims making positive contributions to a peaceful & harmonious society by adhering to the true teachings of Islam.

The following teachings of Islam are examples which can be selected and highlighted:

Respect for the dead: "A funeral procession passed in front of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and he stood up to pay his respects.   A companion duly informed him the coffin was not of a Mulsim, but a Jew, he remained standing and said "Was a Jew not a human being?"  (Sahih Bukhari)

The Holy Qur'an describes true Muslims as those who:

 “…walk on the earth in a dignified manner, and when the ignorant address them, they say, Peace!” [Holy Qur'an Ch.25: V.64]

The Holy Qur’an says:

Verily, Allah commands you to make over the trusts to those entitled to them, and that, when you judge between men, you judge with justice. (Ch.4:V.59)

After vesting authority in deserving rulers, the Holy Prophet (saw) taught that they must be accorded the fullest co-operation and obedience and not to rebel against them. The next verse goes on to say:

O ye who believe! obey Allah, and obey His Messenger and those who are in authority among you… (Ch.4:V.60)
