Hospital Visit:
Upper Mitcham Khuddam arranged a hospital visit to St George's Hospital Tooting.
The visit was arranged by speaking to the administrative staff, who were briefed beforehand on the purpose of our visit - to give Christmas presents to children in the paediatric ward. They agreed and suggested we bring toys which are easily cleaned. I managed to buy 11 presents and gift wrapped them individually. A separate box of chocolates were given to the staff in the ward.
Three Upper Mitcham Khuddam carried out the hospital visit: Mohammad Daud (Qaid), Shahid Mehmood Syed (Naib Qaid) and Qasim Imran Bhutta (Nazim Khidmat-e-Khalq).
Matron Maria Hogan in the paediatric ward introduced us to the children’s parents as we visited each child's bedside and gave the presents. Shahid briefed the parents with a brief introduction about who we are and the Jama'at. Photographs were also taken. Everyone in the ward appreciated our gesture of goodwill andsaid it boosted the children’s morale.
