Introduction

This syllabus is to be used in conjunction with the Majlis Khuddam ul Ahmadiyya Ta’leem workbook.

It is our hope and prayer that the format of this learning will benefit all those who follow the guidelines in this syllabus.

May Allah enable all of us to increase our knowledge to attain His love and become righteous. Ameen!

National Ijtema Syllabus


Tilawat

  • Surah al-Saff verses 11-15
  • This will be an open competition
  • Judges will give any of these verses to recite
  • The marking will be based on qira’at, ramooz e auqaf and quality of voice
  • Extra points will be awarded for reciting from memory

Nazm

  • Three couplets of any poem from Durre Sameen, Kalam e Mahmood, Kalame Tahir, Durre Adan or Bukhar e Dil
  • This will be an open competition
  • Each contestant will be permitted 2 minutes
  • The marking will be based on pronunciation, tune and the quality of voice
  • Contestants should be able to present a start, middle and ending of nazm in their given time

Special Written Paper

  • All questions will be based on the book of Hadhrat Promised Messiah عليه١لسلام A Misconception Removed
  • This will be an open competition
  • Participants will be given minutes to complete the test

Extempore Speech Competition

  • This will be an open competition
  • Each contestant will be given 2 minutes to speak on a selected topic with 2 minutes of preparation time
  • The marking will be based on contents and presentation style

Observation Test

  • This will be a test of basic human senses: Sight, Hearing, Taste, Smell, Touch

Paigham Rasani

  • Only one team per region will be permitted
  • This will be a closed competition
  • Each team will have a choice to select their message either in Urdu or English
  • A team will consist of 7 khuddam selected by the Regional Qaid
  • Each khadim will be allowed two minutes to pass on the message
  • Last khadim will be allowed 3 minutes to write the message

Prepared Speech

  • This will be an open competition
  • The marking will be based on contents and presentation style
  • There will be bonus marks for those who avoid paper reading
  • Each contestant will be permitted to speak on one of the following topics for up to 4 minutes
    • Trust in Allah
    • Importance of Salat
    • Benefits of Fasting
    • Spending in the Way of Allah
    • Philosophy of Hajj


Ijtema Test

  • Ijtema Test will be compulsory for all khuddam
  • All questions will be based on Salat, Khuddam Syllabus and Books prescribed for reading during this year
  • Some of the questions will be taken from Quarterly Ta’leem Tests issued in 2008-09

Team Quiz

  • This will be an exhibition competition
  • Top six teams from the National Quiz Competition will battle it out once again
  • Each team will consist of FOUR team members
  • Only one team per region will be allowed
  • Questions will be taken from ‘A Book of Islamic Knowledge’, Khuddam Syllabus as well as some General Knowledge Questions

The National Essay Writing Competition

  • The topic this year is: “Importance of Financial Sacrifices”
  • This will be an open competition
  • Essay should be 2500-40words
  • Essays can be submitted in English or Urdu
  • All English Essays must be typed in point font size
  • Essays can be submitted electronically to taleem@khuddam.org.uk
  • The final submission deadline is 31st May 2008
  • Prizes will be distributed on National Ijtema
  • Also the top three essays will be submitted for publication in various jama’at magazines
  • The marking will be based on the following criteria:
    • Was overall justice to the topic achieved (50%)
    • Citation of all references (25%)
    • Readiness of the entry for external publication (25%)
  • The front page should include the Topic, Name, Qiadat, Region and Contact Details of the participant

Salat

  • Salat
  • Translation
  • Split word translation of Surah al-Fatiha
  • Dos & Don’ts of Salat

Recommended Study Aid

  • Muslim Prayer Book
  • Salat CD, downloadable from www.khuddam.org.uk

Practice the Khilafat Centenary Programme

  • 2 daily nawafil
  • Daily Recital of Prescribed Prayers
  • A voluntary fast every month
  • Write to Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih ايد٥ الله تعالى at least once a month

Syllabus Implementation Material

The following material is required by each khadim to implement the syllabus

  • The National Ta’leem Syllabus 2008-09
  • The Ta’leem workbook. This can be purchased from your local qaid and is also downloadable from www.khuddam.org.uk
  • A Book of Islamic Knowledge


Ta’leem Test

Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V ايد٥ الله تعالى has instructed that all khuddam must complete the quarterly Ta’leem Test. These tests will be made available on Khuddam website www.khuddam.org.uk on the following release dates:

  • Quarterly Ta’leem Test October 3rd 20(Test 18)
  • Quarterly Ta’leem Test January 1st 2009
  • Quarterly Ta’leem Test April 1st 2009
  • Quarterly Ta’leem Test July 1st 2009

Each test consists of 3 sections. Section A will be multiple choice questions, Section B will be short answer questions (max 1words each) and Section C will be essay writing on a contemporary topic (2words max)

Qaid will be sent a model answer as soon as the Qaid and local Nazim Ta’leem have submitted their tests to the centre. Local Nazim Ta’leem will be expected to mark all the scripts locally. Names of all khuddam scoring 10on MCQs should be submitted to the central ta’leem department (taleem@khuddam.org.uk) and will be announced on khuddam website.

The scripts for khuddam scoring 8or more should be sent to the centre for the National Competition. These scripts must be received by the central taleem department prior to the release of next taleem test. Late submissions will not be included in the National Competition. Every quarter, top scoring khuddam will be announced on the website and awarded a prize.

It is expected that khuddam should develop a habit of reading jama’ati literature. In particular, all khuddam should read the following FOUR books this year:

  • Q1: The Life of Muhammad
  • Q2: A Misconception Removed + The Heavenly Sign
  • Q3: Our God
  • Q4: Christianity – A Journey from Facts to Fiction

Ta’leem Tests will also include questions from the book(s) prescribed for the quarter
