Job Profile: The International Association of Ahmadi Architects and Engineers (IAAAE) is working directly under the guidance of Huzur Anwar (atba) to provide water and sustainable power to the poor regions of Africa. IAAAE has worked with world renowned organisations such as Water Aid and has helped over 600,000 people across Africa. IAAAE has initiated a new project across five countries in West Africa called the Model Village Project. Its aims are to deliver flowing water, sustainable energy, and enhanced agriculture amongst other sustainable solutions to the poor communities.
Alhamdulillah, as a result of our continuing success and increasing workload we are looking for highly motivated construction supervisors/site managers to help execute the construction phase of the projects in Africa. The role will be site based (West Africa) for a duration of 2-4 months.
This is a real opportunity where you can directly better hundreds of lives in Africa and help our Jama'at progress in its service to mankind. Not only will you be integral in giving back to the community, but people who have previously worked on similar projects have gone on to obtain jobs with world leading organisations.
Job Description: The construction supervisor/site manager will be the organisation's responsible appointee on site, aiding the project manager and his team to deliver the project. They will be required to exercise independent judgment relating to the day-to-day aspects of the project, with continual help from the UK based team, as well as the local IAAAE team.
The responsibility of the role will include, but will not be limited to:
Must be available to work for the whole duration of the project in West Africa
* The candidate does not need to be an engineer or project manager by profession
This is an excellent opportunity for Khuddam to do Waqf-e-Arzi and enhance their international experience in engineering or management as well as aid the Jama'at to help the less fortunate.
Duration: 2-4 months (time may vary between December 2011 – March 2012)
Position Location: One of the following countries: Sierra Leone, Mali, Ghana, Niger or Benin.
Additional Information: All expenses relating to the project will be paid, including food, accommodation and flights; with a possible provision of an additional monthly allowance based on individual circumstances.
