By the grace of Allah the Manchester South Ijtema programme began at morning at 6am on the 27th January 2007 where some Khudam attended Tahajjud and Fajr prayers. This was followed by breakfast which consisted of breakfast which consisted of Cornflakes, Bread, jam and butter and tea.
Registration began 9.30am and the morning session began later than Intended at 11am. The academic competitions were delayed to till 11.30.
After the opening session, which was chaired by our respected Sadr Sahib, the academic events began.
Four competitions were conducted simultaneously during the Academic competition session which were the
Azaan Competition Judged by respected Sadr Sahib
The Nazam Competition Judged by respected Rana Salim Sahib
The Tilawat Competition judged by respected Hafiz Muberak Sahib
And the Speech competition by respected Dr Hafeez Sahib
Good number of Khuddam participated in all the competitions and by the grace of Allah, we were able to complete our Acdemic events in half an hour and proceed to the Sports Centre for the Sports Competitions.
Refreshments were provided after the morning session and enjoyed by all. This consisted of a banana and orange. During the course of the afternoon lunch was served which consisted of either Tuna or Egg Mayonaise sandwiches and a can of fizzy drink, either Coca-cola or 7up.
Arrangements were made to take the Khuddam over to the Sugden sports centre where the Football, comipetition was held. I am pleased to report that Khuddam with cars took the initiative and volunteered to take those without cars to the sports hall, without any fuss. This team building was noted by myself and respected Qaid Sahib and was gratifying see.
Healthy rivalry was preceded by each team during the football competition and proved be very exciting and enjoyable. Originally a volley ball competition had also been organised however due to Khuddam feedback and it was decided to extend the football competition.
Khuddam then made their way back Dar Ul Aman for Zohr and Asr namaaz, which was followed by a Talqeen-e-Amal session held by Murrabi Sb, followed by the English translation.
Promptly following the Talqeen-e-Amal session a quiz consisting of general knowledge questions and questions on Islam and Ahmaddiyyat was conducted. This was enjoyed by all and proved to be entertaining in both a nail biting and humorous. This was considered to be the highlight of the day considered by many.

The closing session was followed after Maghrib and was chaired by respected Sadr Sahib and began with the Prize distribution ceremony where Respected Sadr Sahib, Manchester South and respected Sadr Sahib, Manchester North kindly agreed to present the prizes to the competition winners. Our closing session was concluded by a closing address by Regional Qaid Sahib who discussed the misrepresentation of Islam in todays society and the importance of behaving in an exemplary fashion as Khuddam, the youth representing Islam
Attendence
The total attendance of Khuddam this year was 39, a percentage of 54%. It is hoped that nest year we improve on this attandence.
