Local Ijtema Hartlepool 2009

Local Ijtema Hartlepool 2009

The Ijtema was held at the Nasir Mosque Hartlepool on 25th December 2009. The preparation of the Ijtema started in November 2008 when the local Taleem and Tarbiyyat secretary started preparing Khuddam and Atfal for the Local Ijtema so Khuddam can improve and participate and compete at Regional and National level.

Local Qaid, Wadood Ahmad Daud Sahib allocated different Khuddam in different teams, Ziafat, Waqare Amal and Academic and Sports competitions team so Ijtema can run effectively and smoothly and Alhumdulillah all teams worked well and Ijtema went smoothly without any problems.

The Ijtema was planned to start at 11am but it was slightly delayed because we had to wait for the people from Newcastle as they had a long journey to travel to get to the Mosque so they got a little late.

At the start of the Ijtema we had attendance of 25 Khuddam and Atfal, Regional Amir Bilal Atkinson Sahib, Local Sadr Hartlepool Syed Hashim Ahmad Sahib, Local Talim and Tarbiyyat secretary and academic competition’s Judge Dr Fazl Omer Sahib, Deputy Regional Qaid Mohammad Zafarullah Sahib and 2 guests from London representing Sadr Sahib Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya as he couldn’t make it because he had a lot of other Local Ijtemas to attend.

Straight after the opening ceremony, the Atfal were separated from Khuddam and the academic competitions began. The Atfal were divided in 2 groups over 10 and under 10.

Academic and Sports Competitions

The following academic competitions took place:

After Adhan competition the academic competitions were put on hold so the Zuhr and Asr Prayers can be offered and after the prayers the meal was served to all Khuddam and Atfal.

Khuddam speech competition started straight after the lunch and because Atfal has already completed their academic competitions, their sports competitions began.

The sports started later than expected on the afternoon. It started with the Arm wrestling competition for Khuddam. There were 10 people who took part in this. This ran for 35 minutes and then the table tennis tournament begun. The tournament was played for around 15 minutes but had to be finished early due to lack of time. 12 Khuddam took part in this. There was a Basketball shootout planned, but was cancelled because we didn’t have enough time.

As for the Atfal, they began with 100m race which took place in the front garden of the mosque and 12 Atfal took part in the race. The Atfal then had an Arm wrestling competition. There were 3 categories including, under 11’s, over 11’s, and under 7’s and 12 Atfal participated. As for lack of time, Atfal didn’t have a chance to take part in table tennis, although some of them played some table tennis while Khuddam were holding their arm wrestling competitions.

After the Qaid Sahib’s report, there was prize distribution in which everyone even Khuddam and Atfal who didn’t win anything got a book and chocolates.

Then Deputy Regional Qaid Sahib addressed the Khuddam and Atfal on behalf of Regional Qaid Sahib North East and he put emphasis on Khuddam and Atfal offering their Salaats at the mosque or their local Salaat centres.

Then finally Regional Amir Sahib North East gave a quick speech (as we were running out of time) on happiness and that what makes him happy and that was, that majority of Khuddam and Atfal attended the Ijtema and majority of them participated in one or more competitions.

In the end Amir Sahib led us to silent prayer to conclude the annual Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Hartlepool Local Ijtema and then all Khuddam had a group photo with Amir Sahib.
