The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association UK celebrated a milestone in its history with school Teachers at the Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden on Thursday 28th February.
The Ahmadiyya community were celebrating 100 years of its spiritual leadership, known as Khilafat and had invited teachers from local schools to a celebratory evening. The event was organised by the community's youth association.
The evening consisted of tours of the Mosque (one of the largest Mosques in Europe), an introduction to the community, presentations by young children and an informative Question & Answer session with the Missionary in charge, Imam Rashed.
The community highlighted just some of its activities in its humanitarian and charity work around the globe and also its own satellite TV station, MTA International (available on sky channel 787).
The event was attended by twenty teachers from different schools. The teachers were informed that hundreds of schools have visited the Mosque since its inauguration in 2003. All teachers were invited to bring their pupils to Baitul Futuh at any time for a guided tour.
The guests were also invited to the community's annual Peace Symposium in Saturday 29th March at Baitul Futuh, where the keynote speaker will be the current Head of the Ahmadiyya Community, His Holiness Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad. They were also invited to participate in an initiative of the Ahmadiyya Youth Association in providing school equipment to schools in Uganda and Lesotho. This project is in conjunction with the community's charity organisation, Humanity First.
