Army Weekend

Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya UK was involved in the first ever Muslim-only training weekend with the British Army in November. Thirty Khuddam participated in the three-day personal development course organised by the West Midlands Brigade at Gamecock Barracks in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

The event gave youngsters aged between 15 and 23 years first-hand insight and a taste of Army life through various obstacle courses and command tasks.

The event was also designed to help Khuddam develop leadership, communication and personal effectiveness skills. Also attending the weekend were Brigadier Chris Murray CBE, Commander of the West Midlands Brigade, and Colonel David Allfrey from the Army's national recruitment team.

Dr Aziz Ahmad Hafiz, Naib Sadr Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya UK, made a presentation to the organisers and thanked the Army for helping to arrange a historic event.

Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya was also given an opportunity to explain the Jama'at's teachings about citizenship, loyalty and love for serving one's country. The weekend generated huge media interest with BBC TV, radio and other independent channels giving positive coverage.
