National Ijtema 2009 Syllabus

Tilawat
- Surah al-Saff verses 11-15
- This will be an open competition
- Judges will give any of these verses to recite
- The marking will be based on qira’at, ramooz e auqaf and quality of voice
- Extra points will be awarded for reciting from memory
Nazm
- Three couplets of any poem from Durre Sameen, Kalam e Mahmood, Kalame Tahir, Durre Adan or Bukhar e Dil
- This will be an open competition
- Each contestant will be permitted 2 minutes
- The marking will be based on pronunciation, tune and the quality of voice
- Contestants should be able to present a start, middle and ending of nazm in their given time
Special Written Paper
- All questions will be based on the book of Hadhrat Promised Messiah
A Misconception Removed
- This will be an open competition
- Participants will be given 45 minutes to complete the test
Extempore Speech Competition
- This will be an open competition
- Each contestant will be given 2 minutes to speak on a selected topic with 2 minutes of preparation time
- The marking will be based on contents and presentation style
Observation Test
- This will be a test of basic human senses: Sight, Hearing, Taste, Smell, Touch
Paigham Rasani
- Only one team per region will be permitted
- This will be a closed competition
- Each team will have a choice to select their message either in Urdu or English
- A team will consist of 7 khuddam selected by the Regional Qaid
- Each khadim will be allowed two minutes to pass on the message
- Last khadim will be allowed 3 minutes to write the message
Prepared Speech
- This will be an open competition
- The marking will be based on contents and presentation style
- There will be bonus marks for those who avoid paper reading
- Each contestant will be permitted to speak on one of the following topics for up to 4 minutes
- Trust in Allah
- Importance of Salat
- Benefits of Fasting
- Spending in the Way of Allah
- Philosophy of Hajj
Ijtema Test
- Ijtema Test will be compulsory for all khuddam
- All questions will be based on Salat, Khuddam Syllabus and Books prescribed for reading during this year
- Some of the questions will be taken from Quarterly Ta’leem Tests issued in 2008-09
Team Quiz
- This will be an exhibition competition
- Top six teams from the National Quiz Competition will battle it out once again
- Each team will consist of FOUR team members
- Only one team per region will be allowed
- Questions will be taken from ‘A Book of Islamic Knowledge’, Khuddam Syllabus as well as some General Knowledge Questions
