MKA Charity Challenge Cheque Presentation

By the Grace of God, on the 26th of September 2009, this years Charity Challenge culminated in the cheque presentation held at Islamabad, Tilford, as part of the National Khuddam Ijtema. Representatives from the various charities were present to accept a cheque from our respected National President, Mr Rafiq Ahmad Hayat.


The amounts raised was comprised of monies rasied via Just Giving inluding Gift Aid, direct donations to MKA Charity Challenge, Company matched funding and post event money collections in Shopping Centres.
Cheques were presented to:
Great Ormond Street Hospital for £15,000. Ms Clair Ferguson, Regional Fundraiser for Surrey received the cheque.
MacMillan Cancer Support for £11,000. Mr Grant Chapman, Area Fundraising Manager received the cheque.
Save the Children Fund for £15,000. Mr Robin Radley, Chairman Farnham Branch was on hand to pick up the cheque.
Royal Hospital for Neuro Disability for £11,000. Mr Philip Palethorpe, Director of Facilities, received the cheque.
Leukaemia Research for £11,000. Ms Danielle Morgan, London Bikeathon Coordinator, received the cheque.
Humanity First for £26,800. Mr Mansoor Shah, Acting Chairman, was on hand to pick up the cheque.
Barnados for £11,000. Ms Angela Gilchrist, Regional Chair for Kent, Sussex and Surrey, received the cheque.
NSPCC for £11,000. Unfortunately the representative was taken ill on the day and unable to make it to the presentation.


With £1000 donated to the Alzheimer's Society and presented to the Lord Mayor of Bradford on the actual day of the Charity Challenge event, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya were able to present a total of £112,800 this year to charity.
