My Dear Atfal,
![]()
The Holy Qur'an tells the Muslims to think about the signs of Allah; the Holy Prophet (saw) encouraged the Muslims to attain knowledge even if they have to go as far as China to get it; and I have been asking the young members of our Jama'at to work hard and study properly to try and become the best in whatever they wish to be when they grow up. An Ahmadi Muslim should try his best to learn how to read and understand the Holy Qur'an and also be better than anyone else in his chosen subject. Atfal in the United Kingdom have access to good schools, libraries and other means to get the best education and I hope that you will leave no stones unturned in your efforts. Whenever anybody sees a person who is the best in that field, he should see an Ahmadi at the top of the list.
However, when young Ahmadi boys return from school they should not spend all their time sitting before the television screen or in front of the Internet to search on sites that carry bad images, which spoil your minds or join in chat rooms or log into Facebook. You should know that some people in countries like the UK and Europe invite you to join their chat rooms for evil and bad purposes. Facebook has poor security and a contact can pass on your details to another person and they can become available to the whole world. Therefore, there are many dangers in such sites. I am not saying that you should not carry out research on the Internet as part of your homework but please avoid poor websites that are dangerous for young persons.
We are very lucky that we have believed in Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, the Promised Messiah (as) who loved his Holy Master the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw). The Promised Messiah (as) was given the glad tiding that after his death, in accordance with Allah's promise Khilafat would continue till the end of time. Khilafat is a great blessing for our Jama'at. We must thank Allah for this Gift. Our success lies in holding fast to the rope of Allah and making sure that we obey the Khalifa and respect the Nizam-e-Jama’at. Some of you of course write to me but you should all try and make it a habit to write to me as often as possible so that I can pray for you especially.
Time and again I have been reminding the Atfal to be regular in observing the five daily prayers as far as possible together at the mosque, and to engage in good works. I also hope that the Khuddam and your parents will encourage you to vie with each other in spreading the message of Islam throughout this country - in doing good things to all people in many ways and thus make Allah happy about you.
May Allah make your contact with Khilafat stronger and may your contact with Allah also grow stronger and may your true knowledge about Allah increase. May Allah enable us all to maintain a high standard of discipline through absolute loyalty and obedience to this blessed institution of Khilafat. May Allah make all of you good Ahmadi Muslims. Ameen.
