Arabic - The Mother of All Languages?

What is the original language of Homo Sapiens, of which all other languages are derivatives? How did other languages derive from it and most importantly, is that original language still with us today? Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be on him) of Qadian in his book “Minan Ur Rahman”, declared that Arabic is that first language from which all other languages are derived. He proposed a strong piece of evidence to support this claim by pointing to the highly organised system of “Mufradaat” possessed by Arabic. These “Mufradaat” are the so-called “root-words”, the “simples” or the elementary symbols of speech, which are the basis of all human articulation. These are so varied and of such a comprehensive character as to serve the needs, not only of ordinary speech, but also the demands of all knowledge, religion, philosophy, culture and science. Abdul Ghany Jahangheer Khan, French translator of the Holy Qur’an, presented the theory that Arabic is the 'Mother of All Languages' followed by a Q&A panel discussion with an Arab linguist (tbc) and Hani Taher, specialist in Arabic literature. The Origins of Hajj

The world’s most prestigious museum, the British Museum in London, is hosting a dedicated exhibition specifically focusing on the institution of Hajj and its history. In conjunction with this event, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Students Association at UCL and the Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Research Association hosted a talk on the institution and origins of Hajj (at UCL Cruciform Lecture Theatre), followed by a group visit by Khuddam to the exhibition at the British Museum. http://www.britishmuseum.org/whats_on/exhibitions/hajj/introduction.aspx

‘Islam & Terrorism – Your Questions Answered’

Queen Mary AMSA Presents Islam and Terrorism Thursday 26th January 2012 at 6 pm – 8.30 pm Location: Bancroft 1.01.2 Lecture Theater, Francis Bancroft, Mile End, Queen Mary University, E1 4NS (map) Yet another year starts with increased sectarian violence and continued terrorist attacks. It is only natural for the public to assume that within the religion of Islam there must lie some justification for such horror. QMUL AMSA are thus hosting an event to dispel any such thoughts: ‘Islam & Terrorism – Your Questions Answered’ will take place on Thursday 26th January here at QMUL. It will elucidate the true teachings of Islam on the subject of terrorism and apostasy, before answering common allegations against the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
