Sarai Khidmat

Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya has a great tradition of constructing its own facilities. After the partition of Pakistan and India and the setup of Jama’at Ahmadiyya Central Offices in Rabwah, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya was the first of the Jama’at auxiliary organisations to establish its own offices in Rabwah - an undertaking that greatly pleased Hazrat Musleh Maud, Khalifatul-Masih II (ra), who commented on this with immense pride.

Some of you may have been fortunate enough to have visited Awan-e-Mahmud in Rabwah, a compound approximately the same size as that of the Baitul Futuh complex in Morden, Surrey. As well as housing National Departmental offices (including those of Sadr Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Pakistan) , Awan-e-Mahmud also houses, amongst others, a guest house, badminton hall, separate Atfal offices and a library. Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Pakistan also has, in Rabwah, a blood bank as well as squash courts and some workshops to train Khuddam in vehicle mechanics. It is through Allah’s bounty that all such facilities are enjoyed by the Khuddam of Pakistan as well as those from abroad.

UK Khuddam Guest House – Sarai Khidmat

It was decided in 1995, under the Sadarat of Sayed Ahmad Yahya Sahib, that Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya UK should acquire a property of its own once sufficient funds were available through the collection of Khuddam chanda. After a period of just over 10 years a substantial amount of funds had been generated to be able to put down a sizable deposit on a property to establish a Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya UK Guest House. In 2006, under the Sadarat of Mirza Fakhar Ahmad Sahib, a number of buildings were looked at to ascertain their suitability, the main prerequisite being that this Guest House should be in the vicinity of Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih(atba)’s permanent residence at the Fazl Mosque complex in London.

By the grace and blessings of Allah alone, a property - 31 Gressenhall Road – opposite the Fazl Mosque became available. On 15th November 2006, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya UK acquired this property. In March 2007 work began in earnest to convert the existing house into a Guest House with guest rooms and a dining area as well as an office for Sadr Majlis. By August 2007, the work was completed and the Guest House was officially opened by Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih V (atba), naming it "Sarai Khidmat", literally meaning “Abode of Service”.

Since its inauguration, Sarai Khidmat has accommodated many personal guests of our Beloved Huzoor (atba)  and other notable Jama’at dignitaries from around the world and the UK. It is also frequently used for important Jama’at meetings with external organisations and meetings of various departments and committees of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya UK.

A large amount of money through the Khuddam Guest House fund has gone towards the acquisition and construction of Sarai Khidmat but there is still a sizable portion left to pay. Huzoor (atba) has graciously allowed Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya UK to start to raise funds from its membership to help cover the outstanding costs.  It is with Huzoor Aqdas(atba)'s blessing and in accordance with the traditions of our Beloved Jama’at that we request your financial help. A donation from you will not only allow Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya UK to complete its payment on Sarai Khidmat but any excess funds will go towards the establishment of a Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Sports Centre.

Again we have been given permission by Huzoor Aqdas (aba) to form a committee to look at the possibility of establishing a sports centre for the main purpose of providing a location for our youth to meet, have fun, learn sports and better their physical well being. This vision may take a number of years to come to fruition but like the seed of establishing a Guest House fund that has now transpired into a stunning abode, so this seed of laying the financial base for a Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya UK Sports complex can, Insha’Allah, also emerge .

Please kindly make your donation for Sarai Khidmat Guest House to your local Qaid.
