By the grace of Allah, on 6th June 2009, Qaid Majlis Worcester Park and Naib Qaid, Athar Naseer, organised a visit to Tolworth Hospital, where the staff gave us a warm welcome and were happy to spend some time with us talking about Islam and other religions such as Buddhism, Christianity and Hinduism. We also discussed issues such as the credit crunch, unemployment in the UK and the turbulent situation in Pakistan. Baitul Futuh, our beautiful mosque was also praised by them and showed much interest to visit it some time in the future.
This visit was arranged through the Elderly Nursing Home’s Manager whom we met in February 2009. Tolworth hospital has a link with the Elderly Nursing Home (New Malden) because Tolworth Hospital also provide the same primary care and community services for elder people and for people with a learning disabilities. They showed us around the building and introduced us to some elderly people as well as nurses. They were very happy to meet us and consequently gave us the permission to take some photos with them. We brought along packs of fruit, juice and biscuits having attached leaflets on aspects such as “Introduction to Islam a comprehensive religion”, “Muhammad (SAW) A Model for Mankind” and “Ahmadiyyat, The True Islam”.

The outcome of these types of visits we have organised lately, has been indeed very positive. We have developed a better relationship with different organisations within the local community which helps us to present the message of The Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi (as) and introduce Ahmadiyyat and its humanitarian activities around the world in a very efficient way. In addition to the above, when we started our conversation about Ahmadiyyat, one of the nurses at the home, who apparently came from Sierra Leone, started telling us about Ahmadi Schools, Hospitals and other humanitarian services in her country, which our community was responsible for. She stated: “Ahmadiyya Community is well recognised of providing free services and helping people in need in our country”.
By the grace of Allah, we will seek to arrange many more visits to hospitals, schools and homeless feeding places in order to carry out more humanitarian and voluntary work. Insha'Allah.
