Charity Walk - A Walk For Humanity

This year Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Charity Challenge was held in Bradford where the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community inaugurated a new stunning Mosque called Al-Mahdi Mosque in the heart of Bradford City.  It is the biggest and the most beautiful mosque that could be seen from far distance.  We always wanted to visit and see it and explore the history of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Bradford.

Worcester Park Qiadat planned to attend this event and encouraged Khuddam and Atfal to participate so that more Charity fund could be raised for a noble cause.  By the Grace of Allah, 18 Khuddam from our Qiadat attended and successfully raised more than £4800 for this noble cause, which was the target defined for us by the region.

We left a day on beforehand so that we could pay a visit to the old mosque, Baitul Hamd. We offered Maghrib and Ishaa prayers and afterwards had dinner at this mosque. Baitul Hamd was filled up with people who came to attend the event from all over the UK and the visitors were asked to sleep at either of the mosques. We had the privilege of sleeping over at Al-Mahdi Mosque. The next morning we had breakfast and were all set to to enjoy the Charity walk.

After the registration at 9am outside Al-Mahdi Mosque, the walk started and finished at Al-Mahdi Mosque. The walking route was quite simple which went through famous Bradford Park where we really enjoyed the walk and scenery. Thousands of participants could be seen a long way; some running and some walking, and it was an amazing view.

It was indeed a great event and great courage shown by the organisers and the participants to make this event a success. By travelling many miles and being part of this walk for a good cause, our Khuddam surely showed great motivation and enthusiasm. Worcester Park will be looking to arrange many other trips for our Khuddam to attend such events, insha'Allah.
