Baitun Noor Tarbiyyat Forum 2009

Tarbiyyat Forum Report

Bait-un-Noor Region

20th December 2009

Our first ever Tarbiyyat forum by the grace of Allah, went on very well. It took place at Fircroft School, Tooting SW17 7PP on the 20th December 2009 from 4pm to 8:30pm. The total attendance was over 120.

The program started with congregational Maghrib prayer at 4:10pm.

The first session started at 4:30pm by Tilawat by brother Yousuf Abiola Sahib (of Peckham) and translation was done by brother Atif Khalil Sahib (Qaid Sahib Mitcham). This was followed by pledge by Regional Qaid sahib.

Then we had three presentations each approximately 12 minutes long delivered by senior Jamia students. The first presentation was on “Taaluk-Billah” i.e. “developing relationship with Allah” delivered by Abdul Qudus Aarif Sahib. The second presentation was on “Financial sacrifices” delivered by Akhil Khan Sahib and the third presentation was on “Marriages” and was delivered by Usman Butt Sahib. All the presentations although very short, were very precise and covered the topics very well. The presenters did do justice to their subjects and prepared the Khuddam for discussion which was to follow after the presentations.

At around 5:40pm we divided into three groups and further discussed these topics amongst ourselves in groups. The moderators for these groups were, Shafiq Qusi Sahib, Naveed Badel Sahib and myself. 20 minutes were allocated to each topic and we made the best use of this limited time to discuss each of these lengthy topics. There was much participation into this and everyone took part and gained a lot from it.

At around 7pm, the concluding speech was delivered by our Regional Qaid sahib. The theme of the speech was the poem of Hazrat Musleh-e-Maud in which he addressed the Jamaat and said words of admonition.

At the end, a presentation ceremony was held in which 2 former Qaideen in the region were presented by shields as a token of appreciation for the services they rendered to the Jama’at. They were Waheed Badel Sahib (former Qaid Upper Mitcham) and Shafiq Qusi Sahib (former Qaid Peckham).

The program ended with Dua. There was dinner served towards the end which was then followed by congregational Isha prayer at 8:15pm

Alhamdulillah the event was a very big success and credit goes to all the team compromising Regional Amila members and Qiadat Amila members. May Allah bless all the workers of this successful Forum and give them the best possible reward. Ameen!
