Gillingham khuddam donate sweets and toys to Dolphin Ward

Further to the annual plan of Mohtamim Khidmat-e-Khalq, it was advised that each Qiadat undertake a hospital visit over the course of Eid, as per instructions from Huzur-e-Aqdas in previous years. To this effect, local Khidmat-e-Khalq nazim, Mudasser Ahmedi took it upon himself to contact the local Medway Maritime Hospital and arranged a visit to the Dolphin Ward.

Last year we had visited 2 wards at Medway Hospital. Dolphin ward, which is the children’s ward, as well as the chemotherapy ward. We decided that it would be a good idea to follow up the links made from last year’s visit and to promote the activities of MKA within the local community.

Mudasser Ahmedi made contact with the local wards and explained what activities we were planning on doing and we were welcomed by both wards to attend and undertake our specific activities. He then contacted all Khuddam by email to inform them of the event and asked those Khuddam who wished to participate in the event to come forward and volunteer.

Toys, sweets and chocolates were donated to the children’s ward and sweets were donated to the chemotherapy ward. The nurse at the children’s ward was very appreciative of our gifts and thanked us for our generosity. Moreover, the nurse took us around the ward to show us how the ward functions and we met with some of the patients currently staying in the ward or undergoing treatment.

A total of 3 khuddam visited the children’s ward and 2 khuddam attended the chemotherapy ward. The event was a huge success, as we aim to strengthen our ties with the hospital going forward.
