Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Gillingham held its Local Ijtema at
Originally, the Ijtema had been scheduled to take place a week earlier but due to very heavy snowfall in that week the Ijtema was postponed, as the safety of the members was the priority.
The Ijtema began in the morning at 11.00am. Members were treated to breakfast before the opening session which was chaired by local President, Sheikh Naseer Sahib. Deputy Regional Qaid, Mansoor Chaudry, addressed the Khuddam impressing the need for Khuddam to be role models in today’s society. After a brief outline of the day’s events by the Qaid of Gillingham Yasser Khan Sahib, the Atfal and Khuddam split into their own respective programmes.
The day saw healthy participation in all academic competitions. After the break to offer Zuhr and Asr prayers, Regional Missionary Ataul Manan Tahir Sahib delivered an enlightening Talqeen-e-Amal. Murabbi Sahib talked about obedience and reminded the Khuddam of the examples of the companions of the Holy Prophet (saw) and how they obeyed his every command to the letter. The Khuddam were asked to respect and obey all those in authority and to live their lives according to the Holy Prophet's (saw) practices and examples.
The Khuddam and Atfal then enjoyed lunch, as did other members of the local Jama'at who had been invited to attend and observe proceedings. This allowed time for all to have a browse of the photo exhibition; displayed were photographs from Khuddam events held in the previous year in
Kalim Tahir Sahib, Mohtamim Ta'leem, joined the Ijtema for the final session as Sadr Majlis' representative. A prize giving ceremony was conducted and Kalim Sahib then addressed the Khuddam and Atfal on the importance of prayer in congregation and reciting the Holy Qur'an daily. He congratulated the Qaid and his team on what had been a successful Ijtema.
