Peace be unto you and the Mercy of Allah and His Blessings

With the blessed month of Ramadhan almost upon us, I write to wish you all Ramadhan Mubarak. May Allah shower His countless blessings upon you this Ramadhan, and may you benefit greatly from the spiritual fruits of this month. Ameen.

This year we will be beginning the month of Ramadhan on Sunday 23rd August 2009. Our first Taraweeh prayers will be held on Saturday 22nd August 2009 at Barking Hall (insha'Allah).

If you have not already received the REVISED Ramadhan Calendar then I suggest you compare your version with the one on the Jama'at website . Here you can go to the Newham link and download/ print it. Please note that the earlier printed version had errors, so please discard of it and use your latest copy or the link above.

I also write to inform you of the forthcoming National Ijtema 2009. The Ijtema will be held immediately after Ramadhan, in that Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on Monday 21st September 2009 (insha'Allah), followed by the Ijtema being held on 25th, 26th and 27th September 2009. Please make arrangements to book holidays on these three days for those Khuddam who are employed.

The syllabus for this year's Ijtema is already available on the Khuddam website. Please study this and prepare for the various competitions.

Finally I would like to mention Ramadhan Radio 94.3FM. Like last year, I shall be presenting a live Sehri programme on Voice Of Africa Radio 94.3FM every morning for 30 minutes before the end of Sehri. These programmes like last year will have Tilawat, Nazms, and live interviews. At present I believe we will be granted permission to begin broadcasting on the morning of 24th September 2009 (insha'Allah).
