A Passage from the Quran

O ye men, worship your Lord Who created you and those who were before you, that you may become righteous;(Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 22)

Hadith - Sayings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw)

What is Salat? It is a supplication addressed to the Lord of Honor without which a person cannot be truly alive, nor can he procure any means of security and happiness. When God Almighty bestows this grace upon a person it is only then that he obtains true comfort. From that moment he will begin to feel pleasure and delight in Salat. As he derives pleasure from delicious food he will begin to derive pleasure from his weeping and crying in Salat. Before he experiences that condition in his Salat it is necessary that he should persist in Salat as he swallows bitter medicine so that he may be restored to health. In the same way it is necessary for him to persist in Salat and in making his supplications while he derive no pleasure from them. In such condition he should seek pleasure and delight in Salat with the supplication: Allah Thou knowest how blind and sightless I am, and at the moment I am like the dead. I know that in a little while I shall be called and shall present myself before Thee and no one will be able to stop me. But my heart is blind and unenlightened. Do Thou cause to descend upon it such a flame of light that thereby it may be inspired with Thy love and devotion to Thee. Do Thou bestow upon me such grace that I shall not be raised up sightless and join the blind. When he supplicates in this manner and persists in the supplication he will see that a time will arrive when something will descend upon him while he is engaged in such type of prayer which will melt his heart (Malfoozat, Vol IV, p.321-322).

Summary of Huzur's(atba) Friday Sermon

In his Friday Sermon today, Hudhur began by explaining an aspect, that he said was part of last Friday’s sermon, but to which he could not draw attention last week. Hudhur said, as explained, the significance of rizq(provision) is not limited to material provision and wealth, rather all spiritual capacities and faculties also come in this category. The most supremely excellent form of rizq was granted to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him), who in turn passed it on to his Companions. One form of such rizq is the Holy Qur’an, then there is the Sunnah of the Prophetsa and his sayings. The Companions attained beneficence from all these. In addition, the Holy Prophetsa made a prophecy about the latter-days. He foretold that once again, there will be dearth of spiritual rizq which is when an ‘appointed one’ of God will come and will distribute the treasures of the Holy Prophetsa to people. The Promised Messiahas states:

I now present that Hadith to the audience that Abu Da’ud wrote in his Sahih and draw their attention to its evidence. So, let it be clear that the Hadith that is recorded in Abu Da’ud's Sahih is that a person named Harith shall come [...] from Samarkand who shall strengthen the people of the Prophetsa, and whose help and victory will be binding for each believer. It has been Divinely revealed to me that this prophecy and the prophecy about the advent of the Messiah who will be the Imam of Muslims and will be from among them; in fact these two prophecies are common in their subject matter and this humble person alone is the substantiation of them both. In reality the key signs of the prophecy relating to the name of the Messiah are only two; one that when the Messiah will come he will reform the internal state of the Muslims, which will be extremely deteriorated at the time; He would reform them with his teachings......(more) (19-Mar-2010)
