Hertfordshire Atfal Tarbiyyati Class 2010

By the Grace of Allah, Hertfordshire held its Regional Atfal Tarbiyyati Class on 13th of February 2010, in Watford.

The day started with the Atfal arriving from Watford, Stevenage, Cambridge, Luton and Milton Keynes at the Holywell community centre next to Baitul Hadi, the Watford mission house. Proceedings started with recitation of Holy Qur'an by Akbar Ahmad Sahib followed by the Atfal pledge. Maaz Ahmad Sahib then recited a nazm. After silent prayers, Atfal were divided into four age groups and teaching activities commenced straight away.

All Atfal were provided with workbooks from the centre. Two teachers each were assigned to each group.  During all the formal sessions, Atfal from all age groups paid their full attention to the teachers and enjoyed the teaching sessions thoroughly.  They were attentive and well behaved ,and the discipline team on duty had no problems at any point from the children.

Zuhr and Asr prayers were combined at 12.45pm. Resident Regional Murabbi, Faiz Ahmad Sahib, led the prayers followed by Talqeen-e-Amal by Regional Qaid Sahib. Qaid Sahib explained the Atfal pledge and its significance to Ahmadi children. He also stressed on the Atfal Majlis-e-Amila to incorporate the Atfal pledge in their weekly classes.

After this, Atfal had a very interactive session with Murabbi Sahib. Murabbi Sahib asked Atfal a number of questions about Salaat, and explained to them different topics including the five pillars of Islam. The Atfal also asked a number of questions to Murabbi Sahib. This session lasted for about one hour. At 2.00pm, lunch was served, which was prepared by Masood Ahmad Sahib, local Nazim Atfal for Stevenage.

After lunch, the afternoon session started with a formal class, followed by the group discussion in all four groups. At 4.00pm, the concluding session took place, attended by Murabbi Faiz Ahmad Sahib who gave a speech on respect due to parents ,according to Islam. Shaheed Shaikh Sahib, Nazim Atfal Cambridge thanked all the participants. Total attendance on the day was 40 Atfal, including three from Masroor group. The proceedings were closed with silent prayers led by Murabbi Sahib.
