MKA Milton Keynes Local Ijtema 2014

MKA Milton Keynes Local Ijtema 2014 Report

By the grace of Allah, Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Milton Keynes held their local ijtema on Sunday 19th January 2014.  The event was a great success with many improvements from previous years.

The planning for the Ijtema started with the formation of the Ijtema committee as well as the appointment of the Ijtema chairman, Waqas Ahmad Sahib.  The ijtem committee consisted of the following members: Waqas Ahmad Khokhar (local Qaid), Jawad Ahmad Butt, Bilal Saigal, Ata-Ul Mohommad Mohsin.  The ijtema committee met together twice before the ijtema.  The dates of these meetings were 11/01/2014 and 18/01/2014.  The actions of these meetings involved general organisation of the Ijtema day along with arrangements for food & refreshments, academic competitions for both Khuddam and Atfal and sports competitions for both Khuddam & Atfal as well as arranging a venue and attendance campaign

Ijtema Proceedings

By the grace of Allah the ijtema started on time with the recitation of the Holy Quran.  Regional Qaid Sahib and local president Sahib were both present for the opening sessison and the session was chaired by Regional Qaid Sahib.  This was followed by the Academic competions by both Atfal and Khuddam.  By the grace of Allah, this was the first ijtema in several years that Khuddam participated in Academic events and we had tough competition in Tilawat, Nazm, Adhan, Prepared Speech and Extempore Speech.  This was also the case with Atfal with 100% of Atfal participating in all competitions including Tilawat, Nazm, Adhan, Prepared Speech and Extempore Speech.

We were then joined by Dr. Aziz Hafiz Sahib for lunch which included pizza and chips and this was followed by a very well prepared presentation on the Advent of the Promised Messiah by our Tabligh secretary, Jawad Ahmad Butt Sahib.  This involved an interactive presentation which was both enjoyable and informative for both Atfal and Khuddam.

This was then followed by the sports events.  Due to the weather, we were a little limited with the events that we could hold, but we certainly enjoyed the events that we had including arm wrestling and darts.

Local president sahib attended the closing session and was involved in the prize giving ceremony.  Overall, we had 100% attendance from Atfal and 61% attendance from Khuddam (8/13).
