A Message from Qaid Birmingham East - Midlands

My dear Khuddam and Atfal

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

May Allah (swt) always shower His blessings and bounties upon you and keep you free from all worries and troubles.

For those who do not know me, my name is Rafique Saleh Nasir and I have been given the chance to serve as Qaid Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Birmingham East. I feel honoured and am extremely grateful to my Lord who has chosen me for this exalted office to serve the divine Jama'at of Hadhrat Masih-e-Maud (as).

By the grace of Almighty Allah, we have just completed a very busy and successful Khuddam calendar year and are entering another challenging year. On this occasion, I would take this opportunity to thank to all my brothers who contributed last year as without their handwork and co-operation nothing could have been achieved. Bearing in mind the high expectation from the Region and Centre, our task is tough and our journey is long and full of challenges. In order to achieve our goals, we need to increase the number of members in our Qiadat who make things happen. Alhamdulillah, we all are Ahmadis and the fellowship of the Promised Messiah (as) demands from us to actively take part in Jama'at activities and pay positive contributions to the auxiliary organisation we belong to.

I would say that all of you are valuable members of this Qiadat and everyone has the potential and abilities that can be utilised for the Majlis if you are enthusiastic and passionate for serving in the way of Allah. My brothers, it is your Qiadat and nothing is possible without your co-operation. Your sacrifices are essential to make this Qiadat a real MKA Qiadat that meets the expectations of our beloved Huzur Aqdas (atba) and Sadr Majlis. Be mindful that you are among those blessed and chosen ones who are given the chance to serve for the sake of Allah. Therefore, try to benefit from these days by utilising your skills and your abilities to serve the Jama'at of the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi (as) through positive commitments and humble supplications.

As Qaid, I feel it is my duty to get my brothers on the track that leads to real success and that success could only be achieved through developing a strong relationship with our Creator. Among various ways to develop this relationship more important is supplication. Supplication is truly the essence of sincere worship. It connects us with our Creator and it is a practical expression of our persisting need for Almighty Allah in all our affairs. All our struggles, hard work and efforts can only become fruitful if we seek guidance from Allah (swt) through earnest supplication by engaging ourselves in the remembrance of Allah at days and nights. I conclude by sharing an incident with my brothers, when, as a result of supplication made by a humble person of Allah by putting his full trust in Allah, his urgent need was fulfilled in an extraordinary manner beyond his conception in accordance with the divine assurance set out in the Holy Quran: “And he who fears Allah – he will make for him a way out, And will provide for him from where he expects not. And he who puts his trust in Allah - He is sufficient for him” (65:3-4).

Maulvi Abdul Rashid Sahib (ra) was a saintly person whom Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih I (ra) met during one of his journeys in his quest for knowledge. He used to live simply in a chamber attached to the mosque. Late one evening, a guest arrived and he was hard put how to procure food for this guest. He asked him to lie down and relax while a meal could be prepared. The guest lay down and fell asleep. Maulvi Abdul Rashid Sahib (ra) performed his ablution and seating himself facing the Ka'ba, began to supplicate: “I entrust my cause to Allah. Verily, Allah sees all His servants” (40:45). He became absorbed in his supplication. After the lapse of a period that could have sufficed for the preparation of a dish, he heard someone call out: “Sir, please come quickly, my hand is being scorched”. Maulvi Abdul Rashid Sahib (ra) got up and found that a person was holding out a large copper plate full of piping hot rice cooked in the juice of meat. He took it, awakened the guest and served him the delicious food. The copper plate remained in the chamber and was not claimed by anyone, despite repeated announcements by Maulvi Abdul Rashid Sahib (ra) that its owner should remove it.

May Allah enable us to develop the habit of supplication in our daily lives.

Wassalam

Yours Humbly,

Rafique Saleh Nasir
