My dear Khuddam and Atfal
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu
Peace and blessings of Allah be upon you
As the new Khuddam year begins it brings with it new challenges. Allah has blessed us with immense bounties, but are our sights set towards the everlasting paradise or towards the limited pleasures of this earth? We must always remember that being the recipient of Allah’s blessings and staying on the right path can only be achieved through prayer. The Promised Messiah (as) said:
“Engage constantly in prayer and pray for the spread of the message of your religion. After that, it is not forbidden to make use of the God-given capabilities in the pursuit of one’s livelihood, be it farming, employment or trade. Do not, however, put all your heart into your profession or your trade by turning it into something to be pursued for its own sake. On the contrary, you should try to distance your heart from it, considering it to be a trial and keep praying to God Almighty that He may bring upon you a time when you may have freedom [from such worldly pursuits] for the remembrance of God. This is my purpose and this is my teaching.” (Malfoozat, Vol 8, pages 29-31)
All prayers are just as important but I would like to stress the importance of the Friday prayer. The Qur’an clearly states:
"O ye who believe! When the call is made for Prayer on Friday, hasten to the remembrance of Allah, and leave off all business. That is better for you, if you only knew. And when the Prayer is finished, then disperse in the land and seek of Allah’s grace, and remember Allah much, that you may prosper. But when they see some merchandise or some amusement, they break up for it, and leave thee standing. Say, ‘That which is with Allah is better than amusement and merchandise, and Allah is the Best Provider." (62:10-12)
The path success is through prayer and prayer alone, so I urge all fellow Khuddam and Atfal to put aside our worldly matters and pay more attention to your spiritual well being.
Wassalam
Yours Humbly,
Asif Abdul
