A Regional Volleyball Tournament was held at Darul Barakaat Mosque on Saturday 31^st October 2009. The aim of the event was to raise awareness about the game amongst the Khuddam and wanted to select potential regional representatives for future national tournaments, especially for the MKA National Ijtema. Before the event started there was a brief meeting in the Khuddam room which was chaired by Thauban Mwanje (Regional Nazim Sehat-e-Jismani) .

The planning phase of this event was implemented a month ago. All the local Birmingham Qiadats i.e. Central, East, West and Walsall were invited through emails and texts, which were sent constantly to the respected Qaideen by Thauban Mwanje and Fahad Ashraf (Naib Regional Qaid).

Play started at about 2pm between Khuddam and Ansar (7-a-side teams). The Khuddam were generous for lending a few players to the Ansar to enable them to complete their team. A best of three games with 15 points were played, where the Ansar managed to clinch two very close victories. However it was not a clean sweep, as the Khuddam courageously held onto the final set of the game. The day was concluded with congregational Asr prayers led by Regional Missionary of Midlands, Maulana Abdul Ghaffar Sahib.

In conclusion, Alhamdulillah, it was a very good inauguration with four Ansar, 11 Khuddam and one Tifl taking part from three out of four Qiadats - Birmingham Central, Birmingham East and Birmingham West.
