Leicester Khuddam & Atfal Ijtema 2012

Leicester Khuddam & Atfal Ijtema 2012

This year's Local Ijtema was held over two days - 28th and 29th January 2012. It was a combined Khuddam and Atfal Ijtema. It also involved a night stay. The theme for this year's Ijtema was 'Vie with one another in good works' and this was emphasised throughout the Ijtema.

The events on the first day included: Table Tennis, Arm Wrestling, Observation Test, Group Quiz and Paigham Rasani. For the first day, members were requested to bring their own food to share with one another. This was devised to foster brotherhood and Alhamdulillah there was plenty of food to share.

6 Khuddam stayed overnight at the Mosque. Breakfast was served after Tahajjud and Fajr Salaat.

Second day events started with football at 10 am which was an Inter-Halqa competition (Leicester have 5 Halqas including Northampton). This was highly competitive.

Lunch was served at 12.30pm and combined Zuhr and Asr Salaat was at 1.30pm. This was followed by a 15 minutes session with the local Neighbourhood Police who were invited to this year's Ijtema.

The academic competition was very competitive and began straight afterwards and it also generated a lot of fun in the events like the Extempore Speech competition.

Alhamdulillah, the Ijtema was attended by a national representative in the person of Mohtamim Ishaat UK who delivered a motivating message from respected Sadr MKA UK in the concluding session.

This year's local Ijtema was Alhamdulillah another success. For the first time there was a full representation from Northampton (which is part of the Leicester Qiadat and called 'Shuja'at' at the Halqa divisions).

The breakdown of attendance was: 34 Khuddam, 15 Atfal and 3 boys.
