On Friday 21st January 2011, Mosque Qiadat received the greatest honor of having Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V attend to inaugurate the Ijtema.  The first day of the local Ijtema 2011 stated with a badminton tournament in Mahmood hall. The tournament started after Maghrib Salaat at 5pm in which 8 teams from three Halqas (Gressenhall, East and West) participated.

In this tournament 12 matches were played. However, to everyone’s delight, Huzur Aqdas (atba) graciously blessed Mosque Qiadat with his presence. Huzur (atba) watched an Exhibition match played between Gressenhall Halqa and East Halqa of Mosque Qiadat. This match was played on a best of three win basis.

 

 

Gressenhall beat East Halqa in the first two games and won the match. When the match finished Qaid Majlis Mosque requested Huzur (atba) to kindly inaugurate the Ijtema with Du'a. Huzur Aqdas (atba) enquired about the Ijtema and the format. Qaid Majlis informed Huzur (atba) that today was the first day with the inauguration of the badminton tournament with the final day being held on 30th January 2011 at the Aspire Centre.

 

 

Huzur (atba) also asked about the sports which will held on that day which would be Tug of war, Football, Kalai Pakarna, Sabit Qadmi (murgh larai). Huzur (atba) then inaugurated the Ijtema with Du'a.

 

After Du'a Huzur Aqdus (atba) spoke to some of the Khuddam and graciously honoured everyone present with a Musafa. After the Musafa, Hazur Aqdas (atba) participated in a group photograph with Mosque Qiadat. This was truly a great honour for Mosque Qiadat.
