Huddersfield Jamaat held their 6th local Khuddam Ijtema on 27th January 2008. This Ijtema was unique as it was the first time were both Huddersfield South and Huddersfield North worked together in organising and running a successful Ijtema, also more importantly this year is the Khilafat Jubilee year so this meant that the theme for Ijtema was based on Khilafat.
Breakfast was arranged from 9:30am. The opening session started at 10:20 with Tilawat and English translation by Aamir Shahzad Sahib. Zia Uddin Sahib (who was here on behalf of Yousaf Aftab Sahib) did the pledge. After this a welcome address and the programme for the day was given by Yousaf Uddin Sahib.
Idris Yousaf Sahib gave a speech on why he became a Musi and what he has personally benefitted from joining this scheme.
A full range of Atfal academics were held whilst the Khuddam went to the upper hall of the Mosque to start their Sports competitions
Khuddam sports included table tennis, arm wrestling and a tug of war competition and volleyball.
At 1:30 the competitions finished for both the Khuddam and Atfal finished and Zuhr and Asr Namaaz was said. Straight after Namaaz lunch was served to everyone.
After lunch the second part of the Ijtema started with both the Atfal and Khuddam doing a taleem test. Both the Khuddam and Atfal were given the same exam paper, this lasted about 30 minutes.
After the taleem test the Atfal moved onto the sports competitions and Khuddam moved onto the academic competitions.
While the Khuddam were having the academic competitions the Atfal were in their sports competitions in the supper hall. The Atfal competed in table tennis, arm wrestling, observation test, Chinese whisper and also volleyball.
Once both the Atfal and Khuddam finished their competitions there was a group quiz.
At 6:30 the final session started with Regional Qaid Yousaf Aftab Sahib present. The prizes were then given out to the Khuddam and Atfal. Once the prize distribution finished Idris Yousaf Sahib talked about the highlights of the day. After this Yousaf Aftab Sahib addressed the gathering on the subject of the Tarbiyyat of the Khuddam. The Ijtema was then concluded with silent prayer and after this the Maghrib and Isha Namaaz were performed.
