Islam: A Misunderstanding Removed

 

Background:

On 2^nd of May 2009, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya North East held a successful Tabligh event called “Islam: A Misunderstanding Removed” at Masjid Al-Mahdi, Bradford.

Region of North East was very fortunate to have Imam Sahib London Mosque, Ataul Mujeeb Rashid Sahib as the Honourable Guest and the main speaker for the event. There was also an interactive Q&A session with Imam Sahib after his speech.

The event was aimed at people from all walks of life. The purpose was to remove some of the misconceptions that people may have and to show the true teachings of Islam.

On the event, a total of approximately 70 non-Muslim guests were present. There were also  Jama’at guests and members present making a total of well over a 100 participants.

 

Event:

The event started with an introduction by Salman Muzaffar.

Imam Sahib then gave a speech on Islam and Ahmadiyyat. He mentioned the manner in which The Holy Prophet (saw) and his companions lived their lives and the tolerance they showed despite the extremely difficult circumstances they faced. He mentioned the rights Islam has given to women, children and people of different faiths and races. Imam Sahib also mentioned about the Promised Messiah (as) and his message of peace. He mentioned how a true Ahmadi Muslim is expected to help people of all backgrounds and how our actions are aimed at only pleasing Allah and not for publicity or show.

The speech by Imam Sahib was appreciated by all the guests and helped answered many of the questions that the guests had.

All the participants then enjoyed the Q&A session with Imam Sahib. By the Grace of Allah Almighty, Imam Sahib answered the questions in a very eloquent manner which satisfied the questioner and the audience.

Vote of thanks was given by respected guests and from the behalf of Jama’at. As a token of appreciation, a copy of The Holy Qur’an was also given to some of the guests. The session was concluded with a silent prayer.

Food was served after this and guests were asked for feedback. Many of the guests wanted to meet Imam Sahib after the event and show their appreciation for his speech and information. Some guests were so impressed that they asked for copies of the The Holy Qur’an and the books by the Promised Messiah.

Almost every guest said that they thoroughly enjoyed the event and were glad that they came. Overall a very positive feedback and Allah really blessed the event.
