MAA North East Regional Tarbiyyati Class 2010

MAA North East Regional Tarbiyyati Class 2010

On Saturday 15th May 2010, Majlis Atfalul Ahmadiyya Bradford North hosted its first annual Regional Tarbiyyati Class at Masjid Al-Mahdi. This was supposed to take place on the 21st February 2010, but the day was impacted by severe snow and the road conditions were dangerously poor which caused the event's cancellation.

The planning for the event had taken place a few weeks before with a poster campaign and a regular telephone conversation with all of the Nazimeen.

There was a fabulous breakfast prepared of cereal, toast and tea. Registration was taken on entry with a name label highlighting the group each Tifl was going to be in.

Nadeem Ahmed, North East Nazim Atfal officially started the event around 11am, with Guest Sanaullah Mir, Deputy Regional Qaid North East.

The opening session started with an Atfal reciting a beautiful Tilawat with translation, followed by the Atfal Pledge. Sanaullah Mir Sahib gave us a speech on how to enjoy the day and how he wished he was still a Tifl. Nadeem Sahib closed the session with a speech on the importance of this event, and how everyone should behave. He then split the classes into 4 groups, Tahir group 7-8, Nasir group 9-11, Bashir group 12-13 and Nur group 14-15. Bashir and Nur groups were sent to the hall where tables were set up for them to do work on the workbooks. Tahir and Nasir groups stayed in the men's hall for their group discussions. There was a lot of discussion and work being carried out and on speaking with the Atfal, they appeared to really enjoy the experience. The event helped the Atfal  learn about the subjects, as well as work with each other. The Atfal were allowed to have refreshments throughout the event with the Ziafat team organising juice and crisps throughout the day.

After Zuhr and Asr Salaat, we had a presentation by Hadi Malik on Healthy Living. He went through the importance of diet and exercise. After the health talk we went straight into lunch with a delicious servicing of chicken and chips - always a favourite. Lunch was enjoyed and finished quite quickly as the Atfal were keen to get back to their classes.

The afternoon session saw the groups swapping over so groups that were doing discussions in the morning were now doing workbooks and vice versa. We had a very productive afternoon session with some Atfal complaining that there was not enough time. We went into the final session with brainstorming, which involved a representative from each group coming up on stage and presenting upon what they had done throughout the day.

Nadeem Ahmed Sahib started the final session with a Tifl reciting Tilawat. We had prize distribution; there was a special prize for each group which was decided by the group’s teacher.   This was for the best-behaved Tifl who also took part in the event. Idris Yousaf Sahib gave the report of the day and then Nadeem Ahmed Sahib gave a final thank you speech to all the Tifl and teachers who took part in the event. We finished the class with Du’a.
