MKA Bradford North Salaat campaign

It was highlighted at the beginning of the year that although Bradford North had made vast improvements throughout the year in various departments, the Salaat attendance was still lacking. Qaid Sahib suggested that we should take advantage of the western tradition of a New Year resolution and get the Khuddam to turn a new leaf.

A Salaat campaign was launched where each and every Khadim's attendance was noted for every Salaat. A Khuddam league system is in place and each Salaat attendance was awarded points.

Each and every Khadim has been personally requested to attend more Salaat and offered transport to the Mosque. Qaid Sahib took on the responsibility of targeting the local Amila. He has constantly been making “wake up calls” at Fajr to every Amila member and picking them up on the way to the Mosque.

Khuddam have received weekly emails with up-to-date Salaat times, and were constantly reminded to make more effort in Khuddam and Jama'at general meetings. Qaid Sahib was put on the spot during a Jama'at general meeting where he was asked to come up and say a few words. He took the opportunity to request all members to increase Salaat attendance, and advised that family heads should push their families. It was also suggested that we should try and pick up others on the way to the Mosque.

At the beginning of the year the Fajr Salaat attendance was approx 2-3 Khuddam (5%), with the continuous efforts this has now crept up to 8 Khuddam (15%). The aim is to sustain this attendance and try and increase it further. It would be nice to outnumber the Ansar for a change.
