Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Edinburgh Qiadat 2009 Ijtema Report

By the grace of Allah, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Edinburgh was able to hold its local Ijtema on Saturday 31st January 2009 at the Edinburgh Academy Sports Centre in Edinburgh city.

The Ijtema was blessed with the presence of the Regional Missionary of Scotland Maulana Muhammad Akram Malik Sahib, Regional Qaid of Scotland Ahmed Owusu-Konadu Sahib, President of Edinburgh Jama’at Hafiz-Ur-Rahman Malik Sahib and some members of Regional Majlis-e-Amila of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Scotland.

The opening session started at 11am with the recitation of Holy Qur’an by Adeel Ahmad Malik sahib, and the Majlis Khudamul Ahmadiyya pledge by Regional Qaid Sahib.

The academic competitions for both Khuddam and Atfal started after the opening session. There were four events: Tilwat, Nazm, Prepared Speech and Adhan. The competitions ended at 1.30pm, after which Zhur and Asr prayers were offered and lunch served to all.

After lunch all Khuddam and Atfal gathered again in the hall to listen to a speech by Maulana Akram Sahib on the importance of Salat. He emphasized the importance of Salat and advised all Khuddam and Atfal to take their five daily prayers very seriously. He further stressed that prayer is the key to success.

The sports competitions started after that - table tennis and football - for both Khuddam and Atfal, which all enjoyed.

Regional Qaid Sahib chaired the final session, which included the distribution of prizes to the winners of the competitions. During his closing address, Regional Qaid Sahib advised the Majlis to cultivate the habit of sacrificing in the cause of Allah and hence in the cause of the Jama’at and that Allah will bless their works and make them successful in this world and the Hereafter.

The Ijtema concluded at 5pm with a silent prayer led by Regional Qaid Sahib.
