With the Blessings of Allah, Scotland Region was able to hold its Khuddam and Atfal Regional Ijtema on 21st and 22nd March 2009. Moreover the Khuddam and Atfal of Scotland Region were blessed with the presence of our Respected MKA Sadr, Tommy Kallon Sahib, who chaired the final session of the Ijtema including addressing the attendees of the Ijtema.
As previous years, Khuddam and Atfal held their Ijtema on the same day. Even though the Ijtema was advertised as a two-day affair, however some of the Khuddam sports preliminary competitions were held one week prior to the Ijtema. Overall the Khuddam Sports department was able to hold: Badminton, Table Tennis, Football, Running and Tug of War. Similarly the Atfal Sports department organised sports activities rather suited to the younger audience and hence included: Musical Chairs, Tug Of War, Observation Test, Running and Football.
The Regional Ijtema started with an opening session chaired by Respected Regional Amir of Scotland, Abdul Ghaffar Abid Sahib. During this session Regional Amir Sahib requested the attendees of the Ijtema to make full use of it and take away some spiritual benefit. Regional Qaid Sahib during his welcome address speaking on the theme of the Ijtema “Khilafat: Its true meaning and our commitment” addressed the Majlis that true love of Khilafat is not when you take beautiful pictures with the Khalifa and hang them in your homes but true love of Khilafat is when you listen to the Khalifa in whatever he says and obey him completely and also obey the Jama’at Nizam without any failure. After the opening session the academic competitions for Khuddam and Atfal started. These lasted till 10:30pm and included Tilawat, Nazm, Adhan and Speech. Whereas Atfal completed their Academic competitions on Saturday evening, Khuddam had two items left, which included Paigham Raisani and Team Quiz, which was done on the second day.
The second day started with Tahajjudd prayers followed by Fajr prayer and Dars delivered by Dr Imran Ahmad Sahib, Naib Regional Qaid. After this Khuddam and Atfal recited a few portions of the Holy Qur'an individually. The sports competitions started around 9am at Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow and finished around 12:30pm followed by Zuhr Salaat and lunch. The Paigham Rasani and Quiz competitions for Khuddam then took place.
The final session, which was chaired by Respected MKA Sadr Sahib, started at 4:30pm. The final session included, amongst other items, Report of the Ijtema by Regional Qaid Sahib, Prizes distribution and the Keynote Address given by Sadr Sahib. Sadr Sahib first of all congratulated the attendees on a successful Ijtema but continued his speech by reminding them of Masih-e-Maud (as) Day and the Ten Conditions of Bai’at. He emphasised the importance of these and explained how these ten conditions summarised all the guidance we as Ahmadis required to fulfil our duties. The Ijtema concluded with a silent prayer led by Regional Amir Sahib.
After the concluding session, there were group photos taken with respected Sadr Sahib. We pray to Allah that He may grant all the attendees the spiritual enlightenment and enable all the Majlis to fulfil the responsibilities and duties laid down in the Ten Conditions of Bai’at and as requested by our beloved Hadhrat Ameerul Mumineen (atba). Ameen.
