Weeding, tidying and harvesting day at the Children’s Garden

Short Video Report

Watching cartoon all day, playing game console or annoying their parents, that’s what you would expect kids doing over the summer holiday. Which in itself can also be very fun; however our young, little Atfal from Glasgow Qiadat decided to rather do a bit of clearing of dead plants and weeding the Children’s Garden in Botanic Garden, Glasgow.

In total 10 Atfal participated in this fun filling tying and weeding exercise together with other non-Ahmadi kids on 14th July, 2009.  For most of the kids this was the first time working in a garden. The programme, which was organised by the Children Orchard Project - which asked for volunteers - who could help tiding the children’s garden.

This information reached our respected Regional Qaid Sahib, Ahmed Owusu-Konadu, who instantly asked Local Nazim Atfal Glasgow Arshad Mehmood to start getting the Atfal ready for this programme. Mash'Allah the response was very good from the Atfal. Nazim Atfal sahib, together with his Atfal team who helped look after the Atfal also got into the action and made their hands dirty.
