Summary report of Dars and Aftari Dinner with respected Imam Ataul Mujeeb Rashed Sahib on the 29 August 2011
Mubashar Khan, Nazim Ta'leem & Tarbiyyat
On the 29 August 2011, Khuddamul Ahmadiyya from Tahir Region sent a special invitation to Respected Imam Ataul Mujeeb Rashed Sahib to deliver a Dars in Belmont, Surrey. The event was deemed a huge success with a healthy turnout of Khuddam and an inspiring Dars by Imam Sahib. On completion of the Dars, we all opened our fast followed by Maghrib Salaat and finally dinner.
What follows is a summary account of the work and preparations that went into arranging this memorable event:
1. Arranging the date of the event
This was probably one of the most challenging tasks – getting Imam Sahib's availability! Alhmadullilah, I was finally able to confirm a date with Imam Sahib for Monday 29 August 2011. Thankfully for us this was a Bank Holiday which meant that there was a possibility of an increased Khuddam attendance.
2. Hall Booking
We initially tried to book a hall in Banstead which is a favourite amongst the Cheam and Sutton Jama'at and has been used for a number of years for Jama'at functions. On this occasion however this hall was not available and so we eventually settled for a Church hall in Belmont.
3. Hall set-up
On the afternoon of Monday 29 August, approximately five Khuddam from Tahir Region helped setup the hall in readiness for the Dars which was to take place late that evening. There was ample space for over 150 Khuddam with tables and chairs and also available was an industrial kitchen and toilet facilities.
4. Food Management
Atiq Khan Sahib (Naib Regional Qaid) was in charge of all food arrangements from buying the meat, rice, nan, dates, utensils etc. and ensuring that the food was cooked to perfection and delivered on time. This was a very demanding and responsible role and I have to say that in all earnest, this responsibility was delivered and managed flawlessly.
5. Audio arrangements
The Sadr of Sutton Jama'at, Adnaan Wadood Sahib was kind enough for us to use his personal audio and microphone equipment. Jazakallah.
6. Attendance Team
Tahir Region Motamid, Athar Naseer sahib and all of the Qaideen & Saiqeen were instrumental in calling all Khuddam from every Qiadat reminding them of this event. Motamid sahib had arranged an online portal of each Qiadat so that I could monitor progress of confirmed attendance and remind the Qaideen to continue making calls.
7. Khuddam attendance
Alhmadullilah, the total attendance was approximately 145 Khuddam. A few days after the event had finished, I met Respected Imam Ataul Mujeeb Rashed Sahib at Fazl Mosque after Maghrib Salaat on Eid and he had the following words to say: “I thoroughly enjoyed the event. The attendance was very good”. Alhmadullilah.
8. Conclusion
All praise be to Allah for making this event a successful event. I would like to thank respected Imam Ataul Mujeeb Rashed Sahib for taking the time out to deliver a wonderful and inspirational Dars and also to the Khuddam who worked effortlessly to ensure the success of this event. Finally I would like to express my gratitude to all those Khuddam who took the time out to attend. Ameen.
