My dear brothers Khuddam and Aftal,

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah.

May the Lord of mankind open unto you the gates of His mercy and may He so ordain that you are always accompanied by the supplication of His angels.

It was 72 years ago today that Hadhrat Musleh Maud, Khalifatul Masih II (ra), that visionary of monumental proportions, established Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya so let me start by extending my felicitations to all members of the Majlis on this day of our founding.

The raison d'être of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya as outlined by Hadhrat Musleh Maud (ra) himself is as follows:

“My idea of establishing this body is that the knowledge which has been acquired by us and is safely locked up in our hearts must continue to be passed on to the next generation after, and thereafter it must become a continuous cycle so that the world at large may benefit.” (Quoted from Lae-hae Amal 2nd Edition, Published by Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya UK)

The genius of Hadhrat Musleh Maud (ra) is evident even today. Various chapters of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya are currently flourishing in their thousands at national, regional and local levels across the world all charged with the purpose of the proper training of their membership and advancement towards the achievement of the noble aims and objectives of the Jama’at. All members, under the auspices of their respective branches, bound together in affectionate ties of brotherhood carry out programmes designed to inculcate moral and spiritual values and have thus ensured that, in each generation, knowledge acquired from our forebears is passed on to posterity.

On this occasion of the anniversary of our founding, in addition to requesting your earnest prayers for Hadhrat Musleh Maud (ra), the founding father of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, I present before you a brief excerpt of my Keynote Address at the National Ijtema 2009:

“Khuddamul Ahmadiyya is more than a name. I say this with conviction in my heart and passion in my voice, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya is a Divinely-instituted body that ranks higher than all worldly organisations. The role it plays, therefore, in this interdependent world and global community has to match its celestial rank. We must cross borders to spread the Islam of peace, the Islam of truth and the Islam of justice and in doing so I am convinced that Allah’s grace will banish the hatred, disbelief and fear of many of the misguided. We must bring hope, guidance and enlightenment to this country and to a world bereft of values, in desperate need of salvation and in search of truth.”

May Allah enable us to achieve this lofty goal and ambition. Ameen.
