Sultan Al-Qalam UK
Sultan Al-Qalam MKA UK was founded in 2005 in response to the directives of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Al-Khamis (atba) to form a body of Khuddam to respond to allegations against Islam and its noble Prophet (PBUH). This group functions under the guidance and supervision of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya UK. Sultan Al-Qalam was a title given by Allah to the promised Messiah (as) and means ‘King of the Pen’.
The team is involved in monitoring the web for press articles and media items that attack Islam (or Ahmadiyyat specifically) and coordinating responses from our membership. We also liaise with the Jama’at International Press Department and circulate relevant Jama’at Press Releases with our responses. Through our monitoring we also collate and circulate ‘Interesting Reads’ to our membership on a weekly basis.
By the Grace of God Almighty, since 2005, the membership has grown to 276 UK Khuddam, 99 compilations of Interesting Reads & 53 Alerts have been issued to members (to rapidly respond to media articles), 35 responses from the membership have been published and hundreds of comments have been placed on websites & blogs.

Future plans include growing the membership further, training & mentoring of writers to formulate responses, utilizing ICT further to manage, store & present information and form Regional SAQ teams with greater emphasis on regional and local media…..Insh’Allah!

The Promised Messiah (as) has said:“In this Age, it is the sword of the pen with which we are attacked and the spears of objections are being shot at us. We also should not let out forces go waste. We should use our pen to prove the truth of the religion of God and the Prophethood of this chosen Prophet, may God’s blessings be on him.” [Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as), Malfoozat, Vol.1, p.223].
“Now it is the Jihad with the Pen that has to be waged…it is with the Pen that Islam is being attacked. That is why it is necessary that the Pen should be used to rebut the attacks.” [Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as), Malfoozat Vol. 8, pg. 20]
