MKA Website Content Management

In this guide:

 

Requirements

  • You must have an MKA email address and Microsoft login set up before continuing.
  • MKA content management facility is only available to Local Qaideen, Local Nazims Ishaat, Regional Qaideen, Regional Nazims Ishaat and National Amila members.

 

 

Managing news articles

Applicable users

  • Local Qaid
  • Local Nazim Ishaat
  • Regional Qaid
  • Regional Nazim Ishaat
  • National Amila members

Instructions

1. Login using your Microsoft account at khuddam.org.uk/login.
2. Once logged in, you will arrive at your dashboard.

 

3. Tailored to your role within the Majlis.
  • As a Local Qaid or Local Nazim Ishaat, you can add news articles for your local qiadat. The region and qiadat will be shown accordingly. This can be done by selecting the relevant checkbox.

  • As a Regional Qaid or Regional Nazim Ishaat, you can add news for your region or any qiadat in your region.  The region and qiadats will be shown accordingly.
  • As a national amila member, you can add news for any region, qiadat or even nationally. To add news nationally, do not select any region or qiadat.

 

4. To create an article, follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Most articles will follow an image-text format. Use the Image header format to add a header image. This can be configured in the Post Format field.
  • If you want to add galleries or videos, use the on-screen options. Video links must be Youtube links.

You can also use the content builder to add addtional layouts to your article.

 

5. Once you are happy with your article, you can Publish it.

 

6. News filters

If you are a National Amila member, you can place your article within Most Popular or Featured News by choosing the filter options. This will make them more prominent on the website. For featuring your article in the MKA UK App, contact the National Isha’at Department.

7. Done
  • Your news article URL will be shown at the top of the page.
  • Your news articles can be managed by going to All News in the menu on the left.
  • Your news article will be available in the MKA UK app automatically.

 

 

Managing events (regional and national-level only)

Applicable users

  • Regional Qaid
  • Regional Nazim Ishaat
  • National Amila members

 

Instructions

1. Login using your Microsoft account at khuddam.org.uk/login.
2. Once logged in, you will arrive at your dashboard.
3. Head over to Events on the left side menu.
4. Here, you can manage your existing events or add a new event.
5. To add a new event, simply follow the on-screen instructions
  • Make sure to complete all fields including the Regions.
  • Set a Featured Image as the main image for your event.
  • Ensure you have provided a description, date, time, place and selected whether an event is virtual or not.
  • You can ignore event cost and event website fields.
6. Finally, publish your event by using the button at the bottom of the screen.
7. Done
  • Your event URL will be shown at the top of the page.
  • Your events can be managed by going to Events in the menu on the left.
  • Your event will automatically appear in the MKA UK app if it has not passed.

 

 

Managing departmental pages (National Amila members only)

Applicable users

  • National Amila members (departmental heads)
  • Your department must have a page on the MKA website. See Departments in the top header of this website.

Instructions

1. Login using your Microsoft account at khuddam.org.uk/login.
2. Once logged in, you will arrive at your dashboard.
3. Head over to Pages on the left side menu. Your departmental page will be visible there.

5. Additionally, you can add new pages as well.
