KCL South Indoor Finals Day took place on Saturday 18th March 2023

By the grace of Allah the almighty, KCL indoor competition 2023 finals day took place on Saturday 18th March 2023 at Tolworth recreational centre.

The top four ranked teams from the league stages would compete in the semi finals and the winners of the two semi finals would come head-to-head in the final to be crowned KCL indoor champions 2023.

Radiant Stars took on Victorious Royals in the first semi-final. The pre finals day favourite team, Radiant Stars were asked to bowl first by opposing captain Usman Tahir. Radiant Stars restricted Victorious Royals for a score of 108 in 8 overs having bowled and fielded well. This looked a small target for the Radiant Stars team, who were unbeaten in the league stages but some special death bowling from Zeeshan Naseer and Farukh Tahir miraculously won the game for Victorious Royals. Victorious Royals won the game by 5 runs.

In the second semi-final, Courageous Challengers took on Truthful Warriors. Having won the toss, Truthful Warriors choose to bat first in this crunch encounter. A fighting total of 112 is what they were able to put up and Courageous Challengers would now need 113 in 8 overs to book a place in the final. A strong fight was put up by Truthful Warriors but 113 was achieved in just 7.1 overs by Courageous Challengers, who would now face Victorious Royals in the KCL 2023 indoor final.

Both teams, having performed exceptionally well in the league stage and the semi-final now met in the final to fight for the KCL indoor 2023 crown. Victorious Royals won the toss and elected to bat first and put up a valiant effort to score 136/4 in their allotted 8 overs. This was a good score and because of the volume of the game, being it the final, 136 looked a tough task for Courageous Challengers. At the half way stage of 4 overs, Courageous Challengers had scored 66/2 with their captain Tahir Kang leading the chase and it looked like they will go on to chase this big total. But as we seen in the past games throughout the tournament, the might of Victorious Royals death bowling took them to yet another KCL indoor title.

Congratulations to all teams in another successful seasons of KCL indoor league and a special congratulations to Victorious Royals for lifting the KCL indoor 2023 cup. Finals day was then concluded with a prize distribution session which was graciously chaired by Rana Khalid Ahmad sahib, murrabi Silsila UK. Khalid sahib distributed the prizes amongst the winners and runners up teams of the tournament and gave a brief talk about the high level of cricket played amongst the UK khuddam. Prizes were also given for best batsman of the tournament which was awarded to Zeeshan Naseer sahib and best bowler of the tournament which was awarded to Usman Tahir sahib.
