This is our first Regional ijtema After 3 years with the last one in 2019. We started Planning for this in late February.

 

The Committee members were selected from the Regional Amla and they were all informed of their roles before the regular meetings commenced. A detailed project plan was created and meetings were held weekly, initially to discuss high level responsibilities, followed by detailed departmental plans and the progress of these. We utilised the Microsoft platform to collaborate efficiently, using Teams, Sharepoint to aid productivity.

 

The venue and date was decided and the attendance campaign then kicked off 3 weeks before the ijtema, with a combination of social media, instant messaging and house visits to help promote the event.

 

It was decided that due to the threat from COVID and social distancing, this year the Khuddam and Atfal ijtema will be held separately.

With the atfal event being held yesterday we started the khuddam event today at 9.30am with Registration and continental breakfast.

 

In the Opening session we had a warm, opening speech by Naib Sadr MKA Usman Ahmad sahib. He welcomed and thanked all khuddam for attending. He also reminded us why we are here, and how important the theme is ( honouring our pledge). After, Sadr sahib graced us with the opportunity to ask questions and he provided us a faith inspiring account of his recent trip to Argentina to spread the message of Islam.

Shortly after, the Academics started. Covering Tilawat, Nazm, Azan and Prepared Speech.

 

We then had the great pleasure of welcoming Nauman Hadi sb (Mohtamim Ishaat) for our keynote address based on Honouring our Pledge. it was a truly inspirational talk.

 

This was then followed by an inter qiadat quiz that was very much enjoyed by all.

 

We then offered our Zohr and Asr prayers in congregation.

 

Next we broke for Lunch where our ziafat team served a delicious meal comprising of masala fish, chicken korma, naan and gajar halwa.

 

The sports session started at 2.15pm with football, 100m sprint and indoor sports.

As you all know, The Theme for this Year’s Khuddam Year is honouring our Pledge – this theme continues all year round from Local, Regional and National events….. And To capture this theme and showcase it on todays’ event, we had Usman Ahmad sahibs opening address, a Dars from Nauman Hadi sahib and the academics tilawat, nazm and speeches were all focused around the theme.

Alhamdulillah, we have now come to our Concluding session and we have the honour to have respected Tariq Hayat (MKA Naib sadr) with us. The latest figure we have for the attendance is around 116 Khuddam, who joined us over the course of the day. I would like to thank you all for attending the Tahir Regional Ijtema, without each one of you here, this would not have been successful. And I also thank each and every member of the organising Committee that worked tirelessly to make this event a great success, despite a three year hiatus of running these events.
