MFL 2025 – Middlesex Football League Returns for Its Fourth Season
The Middlesex Football League (MFL), organised by Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Middlesex, is set to return for its fourth season. Following three highly successful campaigns, the league has quickly become a key feature of the regional calendar, combining sporting excellence with brotherhood and community spirit.
This year, six Qiadats will once again compete for the MFL trophy: Hounslow North, Hayes, Slough, Hounslow South, Greenford, and Southall. With new team kits, updated venues, MFL 2025 promises to deliver its most exciting season yet.
Recap of 2024
The 2024 season was defined by the continued dominance of Hounslow North, who secured their second consecutive championship with a 2–0 victory over Hayes in the final. Their consistent intensity and unity have established them as the team to beat. Hayes, the inaugural champions in 2022, reached their third consecutive final but once again fell just short.
Slough continued their record of consistency with a third consecutive third-place finish, while Hounslow South displayed resilience with another mid-table performance. Greenford showed flashes of brilliance, including a dramatic 5–4 victory, though struggled with consistency across the campaign. Southall, meanwhile, finished at the foot of the table for the second year running, but enter the new season with renewed determination to improve.
Team Profiles :
Hounslow North – Reigning Champions
Hounslow North enter the season as two-time defending champions and will be looking to achieve an unprecedented third successive MFL title. Known for their relentless high pressing and cohesive team play, they remain a formidable force. Under the leadership of Captain Dabeer Rana, who claimed the most assists last season, Hounslow North are aiming to cement their place in MFL history.
Hayes – Challengers
Hayes have consistently fielded one of the most talented squads in the league. Champions in 2022, they have reached the final in each of the last two years but were denied both times by Hounslow North. With Captain Tariq Mehmood providing leadership and Salman Ahmed ,back-to-back Golden Boot winner, spearheading the attack, Hayes will once again be strong contenders for the title.
Slough – Consistent Contenders
Slough have firmly established themselves as a top-three side, finishing third in each of the last three seasons. Built around a possession-based style of play and strong midfield control, they are capable of challenging any opponent. Led by Captain Danial Ahmad, Slough’s task this year is to break through the barrier that has kept them from reaching the final stages.
Hounslow South –
Hounslow South have proven themselves to be a resilient and competitive side, recording two fourth-place finishes in the past three years. Often seen as underdogs, their ability to push stronger teams close has made them a dangerous opponent. With Captain Ahmer Khan leading the squad, South will be aiming to break into the top three this season.
Greenford –
Greenford have consistently finished in fifth place but remain a team admired for their commitment and passion. Despite some difficult results, they have produced memorable performances, including close matches against top opponents. Captain Wahaj Qamar, top scorer of last season for greenford, provides leadership and defensive strength as the team looks to improve on previous campaigns.
Southall – Redemption Arc?
Southall have faced challenges in recent years, finishing last in both 2023 and 2024. Availability and consistency have been recurring issues, but when at full strength, Southall have shown they can compete. Under Captain Faiz Basit, the team will be determined to turn their fortunes around and climb the table in 2025.
