Southall Mosque Hosts Inspiring Events for the Community
“Ask a Murabbi” Open Forum – Saturday 6th September
The first event Southall hosted for the month was one that took place on Saturday, 6th September at 8:15 pm with the “Ask a Murabi” Open Forum. The session, supported by Nisar Orchard Sahib, National Secretary Tarbiyyat UK, provided a valuable platform for members to ask any questions they had about Islam and Ahmadiyyat in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
The forum encouraged participants to openly discuss matters of faith, whether simple or complex, and gain clarity on issues that affect both daily life and spiritual practice. Questions ranged from the role of Islam in contemporary society to deeper theological matters, with the Murabbiyan providing clear, compassionate, and practical answers.
The event was designed to be interactive, with everyone encouraged to take part. Attendees particularly appreciated the openness of the format, which helped strengthen their understanding of Islamic teachings. The one-hour programme concluded with refreshments, giving members the chance to continue informal discussions and build bonds of brotherhood within the Jama’at.
General Meeting on Seeratun Nabi – Friday 12th September
The following week, on Friday, 12th September , Southall Jamaat gathered again for a General Meeting dedicated to reflecting on the life and character of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The programme, held from 7:45 pm to 9:15 pm, focused on Seeratun Nabi – the blessed biography of the Prophet (saw).
The meeting served as a reminder of the Prophet’s extraordinary example: his compassion, humility, honesty, and unwavering dedication to God and humanity. Speakers highlighted various aspects of his noble character and drew lessons that are directly relevant for Muslims today – particularly in strengthening family life, maintaining good morals, and serving wider society with kindness.
Families were encouraged to attend, and members of all ages attended, creating a warm and communal atmosphere. The programme concluded with tea and refreshments, offering everyone a chance to sit together, share reflections, and enjoy the spirit of fellowship.
Both events were well received by the Southall Jamaat, who expressed their appreciation for the mosque’s efforts in providing opportunities for learning, discussion, and collective remembrance of faith. These gatherings not only enriched members spiritually but also reinforced the mosque’s role as a centre for dialogue, education, and unity.
Darus Salaam Mosque continues to serve as a hub for the community, ensuring that members of all ages can benefit from spiritual knowledge, develop their relationship with Allah, and strengthen the ties of brotherhood and sisterhood within the Jamaat. May Allah enable us to continue these events and strengthen the bonds within jamaat. Ameen
