Baitul Futuh South – Isle of Wight Trip
Assalamo Alaikum,
Baitul Futuh South Qiadat organised a Waqf-e-Arzi Tabligh expedition to the Isle of Wight on Saturday 9th May. Alhamdulillah, 9 Khuddam and 2 Tifl from Baitul Futuh Region took part in the trip alongside 2 Murabbis from other regions.
The team gathered at Baitul Futuh Mosque for Fajr prayers, followed by silent prayers led by Murabbi Usman Butt Sahib. After Fajr, the group travelled to Southampton and boarded the ferry to East Cowes, where a designated Tabligh area had been pre-booked with the local council outside Waitrose Supermarket.
Tabligh activities took place from 9:00am to 2:00pm. During the session, Khuddam engaged in conversations with members of the public and introduced the Jamaat to several local figures including:
- Cllr Tracy Reardon – Mayor of East Cowes
- Cllr Karl Love – Deputy Mayor
- Rev. Ryan Cook – Local Reverend
Alongside the Tabligh stall, a group of Khuddam carried out door-to-door leafleting using the Stop World War 3 leaflets. Additionally, a team of 5 Khuddam visited Newport town centre where they engaged with representatives from a local charity supporting awareness for children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
Alhamdulillah, approximately:
- 50 meaningful conversations took place at the Tabligh stall
- 770 leaflets were distributed
Out of respect for a local memorial service commemorating Polish war heroes, the Tabligh session was concluded one hour early.
Following the Tabligh activities, the team offered Zuhr and Asr prayers in congregation at a local park before heading for lunch together. Afterwards, the Khuddam travelled to The Needles on the coast, where they were able to enjoy a short hike and spend time on the beach to relax and unwind before boarding the return ferry.
Alhamdulillah, some Khuddam were also able to take an earlier ferry back, enabling them to return in time to offer Isha behind Hazoor (aba).
Overall, the trip proved to be a valuable and memorable experience, combining practical Tabligh work, worship, brotherhood, and reflection.
JazakAllah
